In 2019, he opened his practice, Transforward Care, to expand access to integrative, trauma-informed care for others despite income status, race, gender identity, legal history or background. Stefan’s intention opening Transforward was to create a space where people can access long term relief and healing that is transformative and self-empowering.

Stefan has presented and taught in a variety of contexts, such as Yale University Department of Psychiatry, non-profit agencies and legal spaces. Additionally, Stefan collaborates with legal entities, such as the Federal Public Defender, to support people who are navigating the criminal justice system within the face of traumatic histories.

He has built his career on developing frameworks, education and interventions that are trauma-aware, holistic and honor the significance of gender to emotional/mental health and development.
